Children with developmental speech delays are able to work with speech and language professionals in our comfortable and familiar setting. Our teachers work closely with these speech therapists to ensure that our curriculum and learning environments are customized to best serve each childu2019s individual speech development. Devotion for Children is generously funding our 2024-2025 Speech and Language Services.
At FCMLCC, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, connected, and supported. As part of our commitment to nurturing the whole child, we are proud to partner with Family & Child Therapy (FCT), a therapy practice specializing in play therapy, child and family therapy, and neurodiversity-affirming care. Through this partnership, licensed therapists from Family & Child Therapy provide prevention-based, play-centered therapeutic support within our school community. Services include on-site play-based therapeutic support for children, consultation and collaboration with our teachers, and educational resources and guidance for parents and caregivers. Together, we help children strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, develop confidence, and navigate life’s challenges through the language of play.
Our partnership also provides teachers with ongoing consultation and practical strategies to support children’s social-emotional development in the classroom. By working together, we create a consistent, nurturing environment where every child feels seen, understood, and empowered to learn and grow.
Occupational therapy (OT) at FCMLCC assists students in developing essential skills to take part in their daily activities. Whether it’s getting dressed, eating, drawing, or building, OT facilitates a child’s understanding and independence in whatever they do. We are fortunate to be able to work with our kids in a one-on-one setting, in a classroom surrounded by peers, and even outdoors. Children engage in a variety of games that challenge their visual and fine motor skills, practice whole body coordination, and improve cooperation capabilities, all while having fun–because when we learn through play we learn faster and remember longer!
